Definitionen af kunst er mangfoldig og dækker mange unikke udtryksformer. Der er dog bredt set syv former for kunst, der falder ind under den fælles kollektive definition af “kunsten”.

Definitionen af kunst

Kunst i enhver form er et udtryk for eller en anvendelse af menneskelig kreativitet, dygtighed og fantasi. Mange af kunstformerne opleves visuelt, men kan også være hørbare eller nydes gennem berøringssanser. Kunst blev traditionelt set primært værdsat for sin skønhed eller følelsesmæssige kraft, men bruges nu ofte til politiske udtryk eller sociale kommentarer. 

De fleste former for kunst kan generelt kategoriseres i de syv forskellige former for kunst, som vi vil se på i dette blogindlæg. At genkende og forstå hver af de forskellige kunstkategorier gør det ikke kun muligt for os at nyde kunsten mere, men det er også vigtigt for at hjælpe os med at forstå kunstens rolle i vores liv og historie.
Hvad er de 7 forskellige former for kunst?

Specifikke medier og former for kunstnerisk udtryk har ændret sig gennem menneskehedens historie, men for det meste falder kunst ind under en af følgende syv klassiske former. Hver enkelt kunstform opleves forskelligt og påvirker vores humør og følelser på forskellig vis.

De mest populære kunstformer

Maleri

At male er en måde at udtrykke din kunstneriske vision ved at bruge maling som det primære medie

Malerier er klassificeret efter både emne, stil og genre. Maleriemnerne falder normalt ind under stilleben, landskab, havet, portrætter eller abstrakte malerier. Der findes mange malestilarter, herunder modernistisk, ekspressionistisk, klassisk, surrealistisk, kubistisk, kinesisk stil, abstrakt, impressionistisk og mange flere.

Er man på udkig efter inspiration til et maleri, kan det oftes findes hos et online galleri eller hos fysiske gallerier og på udstillinger.

Skulptur

En skulptur skaber tre-dimensionelle visuelle billeder, traditionelt ved hjælp af materialer som ler, sten, keramik, metal eller træ.

Berømte klassiske billedhuggere som Michelangelo og Myron foretrak udskærings- og støbningsteknikker med marmor og bronze. Mange af de mest kendte skulpturer i verden, som f.eks. “David”, “Frihedsgudinden” og “Manneken Pis”, er fremstillet af disse materialer.

Moderne billedhuggere har i dag næsten alle genstande til rådighed til at skabe en skulptur, herunder metaller, plast, glas og fundne genstande. Moderne billedhuggere har også flere forskellige teknikker til rådighed, herunder svejsning, udskæring, samling eller modellering.

Teater

Teater er en kunstform, hvor kunstneren kombinerer både visuel kunst og dramatisk optræden. Med tiden er definitionen af teater blevet udvidet til også at omfatte performancekunst. Normalt omfatter det forskellige kunstformer, hvor kunstneren eller kunstnerne præsenterer eller opfører deres kunst på en scene.

Teater har været en del af kulturen siden de gamle grækere i det 6. århundrede f.Kr. Siden da er teater blevet en af de mest populære kilder til underholdning. De bredere scenekunstformer omfatter teater og dans, musik, opera, cirkuskunst, musicals, magi eller illusioner, mime, talte ord, marionetdukker og performancekunst. 

Dog gælder de traditionelle græske klassifikationer af teater: drama, tragedie og komedie, stadig for mange moderne produktioner.
